saturday's trials

Whew! We made it through the weekend! What a tornado of one too. Friday Night.. pulled washer apart since wasn't working.....picked up Kayla from guard practice...picked Grtechen from dance practice...still working on washer.. Went to bed. Saturday..woke up Kayla to get to guard practice for big competition that evening...organized self for church ball game..went to it...WE WON!!!! 29-17 Stephanie and Gretchen made 6-7 pts each...their neighbor friend made 13 pts.. and others contributed as well! We freaked out their 3 pt shooters!!! It was awesome.
So our YW team is 3-1 and will be 4-1 before tournament. Onward we go!!!! Rushed off to G's dance competition in Fort Worth... she had four dances to do and the team did well with 3 ELITE FIRST PLACE'S and one first place. Special honors from MTV for their Hip hop performance. It was a theatrical one at that! While we were doing that Mike was helping the guard team with their floor, Kayla and her team were preparing for their competiton in Arlington... they were hoping for top honors and move up on the class list....with a 74.6 score...THEY DID IT! FIRST PLACE AND MOVED THEM UP TO TOP PLACEMENT. So...now they need to kick some butty!! So they say.... Oh and the Jack's helped me put washer together so Mike d/n have to do it. Ahhh Sunday has arrived.

Tournament for Middle School basketball

Another exhilarting tournament...Gretchen's team won Thursday's game and played for third place on Friday. First they played Dawson the huge talented team was all over our team like crazy. gretchen got squished by "helgga"...what a brut she was Gretchen bounced off of her and lost the ball only to recover it and throw to one of her team players that missed the shot. "Helga" smiled wickedly at "G". They beat our team by 16 points...eh we knew it would be bad. After waiting for awhile we then suited up for playing our rival ,Keller Middle.... What another fast-paced game...we ran them hard!!! Lots of talent between both teams...a lot of our girls knew friends on the other team...no friends on the court!!! We played hard and harder and finished with a win...I think by 6 points. It was great ...no baskets for "G" but lots of assists and steals.

Church Ball!!

We will ..we will .....rock you!!!!! Our team did it!!! We beat the Tongan team by 4 points all thanks to loads of hard team work and a couple of extra friends that play well. It was everything you would want to pay for in a game if you had to pay.... intensity, fast-pace (i know, not a word...), thrill...big scores... running like crazy to keep other team in daze..lots of fouls on both teams.... referees calling "bogus" fouls to slow game and attitudes down... Whew!!! It really rocked. Stephanie got 3 fouls in 10 minutes...whoa girl pace yourself. She smiled. Then she got smooshed and had to come out to regain composure. There was sweat flying...girls running fast ...it was so great. And yes...it was sweet that we won...but even if we lost by 1 point, it was truly an awesome game to be in...and at. The other amazing thing was that the moms and dads of the tongans girls were in the hallway waiting for sons to play and they said that was really a fun game. Gotta lovechurch ball. Yes????? We will see what happens next week.

She got a job!!!

Can I hear a whoop-whoop?!!!! Guess who got a job...Stephanie!!! Yea...wahoo....
Found the post on craigslist ...told her about it...she dived at the opportunity...AND nailed it with enthusiasm galore. She is now orienting to work for Marco's Pizza!!!! She loves that pizza!!! The love feast started in Ohio at grandparents house..then con'td to Indiana...now....here. And the best is...the drive is 4 minutes from our house! Lets see how this all pans out now that stomp practice is going on...oh this year she is banging trash can lids!!! Concert practice is also going on...but it will work out. That is all for now.

Middle School basketball

Today is my venting day....I am calm. If you talked to me yesterday (evening) I was an irritable parent of team. Here goes...the last game of season..we played rival Keller Middle School. Tall girls with some muscles on them. Ohhhh. We scored first (yeah)...our team still did not get any plays for the entire season...what they was on talent alone. I am amazed at the talent and the "stupid nous" (not a word) of coach. Anyway, the score of game was tight...thank goodness. But they were always ahead. Gretchen got in there a few times and got fouled so she scored some points... a really nice shot decided not to happen. She elbowed a player sneakily ( not word) and stole the ball...the other team couldn't figure the little one out. But we still played hard and ran out of steam...of course without plays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We lost by 6 points. Not bad but it could cost us out tournament position next week. Duh coach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Soooooooo I am ready for Keller basketball to be done. I do love the game.......but we need a coach that gives plays to team just like the other schools have had. There I am done. Do I feel better....check back. Onward we go to dance team compettion and softball season!!!!!!!! LOL-big time.

Our weekend adventure

We had so many laughs with our friends the Keelings. I think they brought the ice and cool air here...well maybe not, it was supposed to come anyway! Okay so...onward to the airport the big scary airport that spits out those that don't know how to do the circle to get back to where you started.... yes that would be ...ME! Okay we got the friends! Next doughnuts for breakfast and relax for 1 hour and enjoy the house peace. Next to a tournament basketball game for Gretchen. They won! Next leave and go to the stockyards in Fort Worth. Brrr. Windy and cool 45. Okay that is warmer than they have had but ya know...60's please? There we walked the town and saw the herding of 13 huge longhorns. Huge! Then a gunfight! Wow-wee. Next shops to keep us warm...should we buy armadillo pellets? Nah. Listened to a band outside gave a few dollars for the entertainment. Brr...the wind is picking up where to ? Oh ..H3. Yummo!!! Great steak, ribs and salad. try it...you'll love it! Next walked the strip so more and found a longhorn to sit on. yes we did it! Well, Mary and I did. He was cute in longhorn fashion. I couldn't get my one leg to get up on the darn thing since I wore my baggy jeans---I know what a problem-well yea it is when you are trying to get up on the darn thing!!!! Anyway..fun. Then we took various pics of the longhorn and us. Then I talked Mary into getting up on him...cool! She did it. We were going to stay and listen to some country guy sing at Billy Bob's but they were getting tired and Mike's rib injury from a working ski adventure was hurting him. So we went home to a warm and cozy house. Next day...Sunday.. we went to the Gaylord Texan and walked and walked around, took various pics and decided nice place to visit. Onward we went to the Grapevine Lake...oohh boats were out and fisherman...don't know what they were fishing for but they were fishing. Nice 65 degrees and sunny day it was to do this. I thought about renting a boat and riding the lake...no one jumped at that idea! Next visited the great Wolf Lodge...nice! We went hoe to relax and catch a few winks and ping pong...ate a bit of dinner and left for the rodeo in Fort Worth. Loved it! great riders, barrel racers, funny clowns, roping of animals and other stuff--free! We got lucky and someone had 4 tickets not being used---FREE! Love it! Onward home...slept and next morning took them to the airport. BOOOOOO. Thanks guys!-- Love ya!!!

Church ball

Wahoo! Our first game was thrusting with excitement, power, and fun. Keller 1st beat Woodland Springs YW team 25-24. Can you say...wowser? I the coach, was totally full of panic...I didn't prepare for this to be so competitive or a showstopper. I had 17 girls show up. Cool! But hard to figure out...half knew how to play, the others just did what they could and very well too. Woodland Springs was up in score most of the game...frustation from me since I knew we could beat them with the 7 that already play in middle school or have in the past played. I shuffled all 17 girls around...all played ..amazing it was! Down to the last 2:15 of game the other team was working the time and I couldn't do a thing...so I called one of my girls to foul...foul!!! Whew! I pulled in the power guns,,,my 2 daughters, Erica, Donna and Shelby. And GAME IT WAS!!! Great game ...yes. I just got a little excited. Many parents commented on my excitement...I never thought I was going to be so competitive. HMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Anyway it was fun...the boys of our ward lost by 1 point. Awwww.
